Linus Pauling and the Twentieth Century is a traveling exhibit celebrating the life of one of the world's great scientists and peace activists.

Linus Pauling's life spanned the twentieth century. He was born in 1901 and died in 1994 and his achievements and struggles are a remarkable mirror of that era. Pauling's work earned him two Nobel Prizes: one for Chemistry in 1954 and one for Peace in 1962. His endeavors in both areas continue to effect and change the lives of people throughout the world. Created with the assistance of the Pauling Family and Oregon State University, the Linus Pauling exhibition was developed to expose young people to the life and work of this influential scientist.

Since opening in San Francisco in September 1998, the exhibit has toured multiple cities across the US and Japan, and has been seen by more than a million people.

During 2003 the Linus Pauling exhibit was shown in Paris and Geneva during the spring, and closed the year with apearances in Italy including Modena and Turin. The exhibit is currently on hiatus.
